Nintendo Switch
Localization for the Super Bowl TV commercial

Nintendo Switch, Localization for TV commercial

TOR mission

Since his officially announcement in 2016, the Nintendo Switch is at the same time a portable and home console. The Nintendo Switch has a touchscreen and 2 small controllers, the Joy-Con. Above all, these Joy-Con are impressive for the embedded technologies increasing the game experience.

Nintendo annouced numerous games all along the year with exclusive titles like the new The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2 and Arms above others.
In order to announce the launch of its new console and its upcoming games, Nintendo decided to broadcast a TV commercial in the Super Bowl final game.

This sport event, performed in the United States and around the world, offers media over-exposure with nearly 110 million viewers.

Nintendo produced the TV commercial for American and Canadian English-speaking audience. Nintendo asked us to localize the advertisement. Localization is more than just translation. To have the same impact for the new audience as the original we needed to adapt the content. Therefore, TOR meticulously replaced some game screens for their French equivalent and on-screen texts.
